Our History

In 1904, Bro. Taylor and Bro. and Mrs. Robertson conducted a revival in the Jeterville school house, and the Mt. Olive Holiness Church was begun with weekly Sunday School and prayer meetings held in the schoolhouse. The school was closed in 1906 and Ellen Jeter Grimes donated one acre of land to the church. Under the leadership of Bro. J. N. Salter, the schoolhouse was torn down and a frame church was built. Services were held monthly on Saturday nights and twice on Sunday.

In 1912, the frame church burned and was promptly replaced with a new frame structure. About 1973, Mt. Olive Holiness Church began full time service with three services each Sunday and prayer meetings each Wednesday night.

Our journey began with a small group of faithful individuals who saw a need for a place of worship and spiritual nourishment in our community. Over the decades, we have grown in both numbers and spirit, staying true to our mission of bringing the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ and service to others.

About Mt. Olive Holiness Church

Welcome to Mt. Olive Holiness Church, a beacon of faith, love, and community nestled at the heart of Colquitt community. With a rich history we have dedicated ourselves to serving our community with unwavering devotion and spreading the message of hope and salvation in Jesus Christ.

In May of 2018, Bro. Jonathan Prickett came to Mt. Olive Holiness Church replacing Bro. Daniel Dean. Bro. Prickett is originally from Prattville, Alabama and his wife, Sabrina is from Bledsoe, Kentucky. Bro. and Sis. Prickett met in a revival her dad was preaching at his home church. They have been married since 2005. They are the proud parents of three girls: Kailee, Makynzie, and Paisley who love to sing and play music.
